Thistle comes from the Asteraceae family of plants, and its appearance is reminiscent of the thistle known to everyone with its pink inflorescence. It has been used as a medicinal plant since ancient times until today. It owes its effect to the silymarin found in the pericarp, which is one of the antioxidants that scavenge free radicals from the body. This compound has a strong detoxifying and liver regenerating effect, and can be found in popular medicines.
